In a tough blow to the University of Kentucky’s football program, Russ Yeast, son of former UK receiver Craig Yeast, took to Twitter Thursday afternoon to announce that he was uncommitting himself from the Wildcat football program.
“I would like to thank the whole Big Blue Nation family of fans and coaches for the wonderful opportunity in this recruiting process. After much discussion with my family, I have decided I will back off of my commitment to the University of Kentucky,” announced the high school receiver who will be entering his senior season this fall.
“I truly feel this is the best course of action in order to make the right decision for me,” he concluded.
Rated a three-star recruit by Rivals.com, Yeast gave no indication as to which school he was now considering, however, in April, he stated that he had received an offer to play for SEC rival Ole Miss.
No fewer than five other high school seniors have uncommitted from the University of Kentucky’s football program since the end of last year’s 5-7 season.
