Winter Storm Warning Issued for Western Maryland & Eastern W.Va.



This morning the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, issued a winter storm warning for residents of western Maryland.

The message, which includes the cities of Mountain Lake Park, Oakland and Grantsville, will be in effect from 6 p.m. this evening to 6 p.m. Friday.

Forecasters are predicting snow accumulation totals to be anywhere from 4 to 8 inches, with the heaviest of snow expected to fall overnight.

Wind gusts will also play a significant factor, as the west winds are expected to reach gusts in excess of 35 mph.

Temperatures will fall into the mid-20s and the snow will make travel dangerous.
