WYTHEVILLE, Va. – This morning, Huff Automotive’s Ford and Chevrolet dealerships in Wytheville and Appalachian Magazine approved a partnership agreement to launch an online Appalachian travel show.

The ten to fifteen-minute episodes will highlight a unique travel gem located in Southwest Virginia, showcasing the region’s scenic beauty, opportunities for outdoor adventure and rich history.

Appalachian Magazine, which was launched in 2013 by former Wythe County Tourism Director Jeremy Farley, has grown to nearly 100,000 online followers and enjoys a weekly reach of nearly a quarter-million individuals.

2018 is also a special year for Huff Automotive as Bob Huff Chevrolet Buick GMC, at 925 East Main, is celebrating  its 45th anniversary and Huff Ford, at 1135 East Main, is marking its 20th year of service.

“We have been desiring for a long time to expand the publication to include a video series and the opportunity to partner with Huff Auto makes this a reality,” said Farley, adding, “Huff Automotive is a strong local business fully invested in our community and it’s an honor to join with them in order to highlight what makes life in the Appalachian Mountains so incredible.”

“Partnering with Appalachian Magazine to create a travel show is a natural fit for Huff Automotive – nothing is more closely linked to travel than the automobile and for the better part of half a century we have been meeting the automotive needs of our community,” said  Brad King, Operations Director, Huff Automotive.

Regional economic development officials say they are excited by the fact that the video series has an opportunity highlight the Southwest Virginia region before a national audience.

“The Wytheville-Wythe-Bland Chamber of Commerce is so excited to see the Appalachian Adventure video series come to life.  This partnership between two of our valued members, Huff Automotive and Appalachian Magazine, will significantly increase our mission and vision to highlight this beautiful piece of Virginia where we all live, work and play,” said Lorie D. Cox Associate Director of the Wytheville-Wythe-Bland Chamber of Commerce.

Cox went on to state, “We wish this project sunny days, open roads and the adventures of a lifetime!”

The initial partnership will allow for 12 separate episodes as well as multiple articles per adventure.

The first video is set for release in mid-February.  Individuals wishing to learn more about the partnership may Appalachian Magazine by emailing
